Nirmal Pancholi, or Aditya Pancholi as he is known better, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in the Hindi film industry. He started his acting career in 1985 with television movie Shahadat and then ventured into Bollywood in 1986 acting in movie Sasti Dulhan Mehnga Dulha.
Aditya featured in a number of television films in 1986, namely, Sone Ka Pinjra, Siyahi, Shingora, Kalank Ka Tika, Afshar Ki Saali, and Maryam Ki Beti. In 1987, he featured in Abhishek, Naqli Chehra (Guest Appearance), and Khatarnaak Irade, and followed them with television mini-series Mahashakti in 1995, and My Father Godfather in 2014.
BOLLYWOOD MOVIES:
In 1988, Aditya had his first proper Bollywood role as a supporting actor in the movie Dayavan, which he followed with Maalamaal, Dharamyudh, Kab Tak Chup Rahungi (Lead Role), Khoon Bahaa Ganga Mein, and Qatil (Lead Role). In 1989, he starred in movies Mohabat Ka Paigham, Kahan Hai Kanoon, Jaadugar, Lashkar, Desh Ke Dushman, and Ladaai. In 1990, he starred in Awaragardi, Sailaab (Lead Role), Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, Maha-Sangram, Taqdeer Ka Tamasha, Awwal Number, Gunahon Ka Devta, Pyaar Ka Toofan, Aashiqui (Voice), Veeru Dada, Zakhmi Zameen, and Atishbaz.
1991 TO 1994:
In 1991, Aditya featured in 10 movies, namely, Jeevan Daata, Akayla, Saathi (Lead Role), Shiv Ram, Dushman Devta, Paap Ki Aandhi, Vishnu-Devaa, Hafta Bandh, Naamcheen (Lead Role), and Laal Paree (Lead Role). In 1992, he starred in Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (Lead Role), Sahebzaade, and Tahalka, which he followed with Chor Aur Chaand (Lead Role/Producer), Bomb Blast, Muqabla (Lead Role), Game, Jan Per Khel Kar, and Tahqiqaat in 1993. In 1994, he featured in only one movie, Aatish: Feel the Fire.
1995 TO 1999:
Aditya, who did well with supporting roles, in 1995 featured in Ram Shastra, Ravan Raaj: A True Story, The Gambler, and Surakshaa. In 1996, he featured in six movies, namely, Khilona (Lead Role), Zordaar, Muqadama, Mafia, Jung, and Ek Tha Raja (Lead Role). In 1997, he starred in Yes Boss, Hameshaa (Lead Role), Jodidar, and Gundagardi (Lead Role), followed by Zanjeer (Lead Role), Devta, Military Raaj, and Hafta Vasuli in 1998. In 1999, he starred in Aaya Toofan, and Benaam.
2000 TO 2012:
In 2000, Aditya featured in the movie Bhai No. 1, Baaghi, Jung, and Tarkieb, followed by Baghaawat – Ek Jung in 2001, and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa, Aankhen, Gautam Govinda, and Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani in 2002. He then starred in Chalte Chalte, and Border Hindustan Ka (Lead Role) in 2003, followed by Musafir and Nirahua Rikshawala in 2004. The next movies he featured in were Striker (2010), Dum Maaro Dum (2011), Bodyguard (2011), Rush (2012), Idiot (2012), and Hridayanath (2012).
2013 TO 2020:
Aditya in 2013 featured in the movies Mumbai Mirror, Race 2, and Telugu film Shadow, followed by Jai Ho (2014), Dishkiyaoon (2014), Hero (2015), Bajirao Mastani (2015), Mumbai Can Dance Saala (2015), Bhouri (2016), and will be seen in 2020 in the movie Taish.
CONTROVERSIES:
Aditya was involved in an altercation with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who accused him of drugging, raping, blackmailing and assaulting her over many years starting from when she was 16. He was also accused of raping his ex-girlfriend Pooja Bedi's 15-year-old maid when the two actors were dating. He was also sentenced by a Metropolitan Court to one-year imprisonment in an assault case that took place in 2005, however, he did not do jail time as he was able to secure bail.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Aditya Pancholi was born on January 4, 1965 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to filmmaker Rajan Pancholi and Aruna Pancholi, and he has one sister and two brothers. He completed his schooling from St. Joseph's High School in Juhu, Mumbai, and he is married to actress Zarina Wahab with whom he has two children.
