Diane Colleen Lane is an American actress who works in the English film, theatre and television industries. She began acting professionally at the age of six at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York, where she appeared in a production of Medea in 1971. She made her movie debut in 1979 in the film A Little Romance, and her television debut in 1981 in Great Performances.

Diane Lane was born on January 22, 1965 in New York City to Burton Eugene Lane and Colleen Leigh Farrington. She was married to actor Christopher Lambert with whom she has a daughter, and after they divorced, she married actor Josh Brolin. Her marriage to Josh, however, ended in divorce.
