Hansika Motwani is an Indian actress who works predominantly in the Tamil film industry, though she has also starred in a number of Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi movies. Apart from movies, she has also featured in television shows, beginning her acting career as a child artist in the serial Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand in the year 2001-2003. Where movies are concerned, her first role was as a child artist in the 2003 Hindi movie Hawa.
Hansika featured in a number of television serials as a child artist, and after Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, she went on to star in Shaka Laka Boom Boom (2001), Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2002), Son Pari (2002), Karishma Kaa Karishma (2003), Hum 2 Hain Na (2004-2005), and Celebrity Fame Gurukul (Contestant-2005).
Movies:
In 2003, Hansika had four movies to her name, all as a child artist. They were Hawa, Koi... Mil Gaya, Aabra Ka Daabra, and Jaago. In 2004, she again had a role as a child artist in the movie Hum Kaun Hai? and it was only in 2007 that she made her debut as a lead actress.
2007 TO 2010:
Hansika made her debut as a lead actress with Telugu movie Desamuduru in 2007 and earned herself a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South, and the same year she starred in Hindi movie Aap Kaa Surroor. In 2008, she made her Kannada debut with the movie Bindaas, and followed it with Telugu movie Kantri and Hindi movie Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. In 2009, she featured in Telugu movies Maska, Billa (Cameo), and Jayeebhava, and in 2010, she starred in Telugu movie Seeta Ramula Kalyanam.
2011 TO 2013:
In 2011, Hansika made her Tamil debut with the movie Mappillai, and the same year starred in Engeyum Kadhal (Tamil), Kandireega (Telugu), Velayudham (Tamil), and Oh My Friend (Telugu). After a busy year, she went on to star in Tamil movie Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Telugu movie Denikaina Ready in 2012. In 2013, she featured in four Tamil movies, namely, Settai, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, Singam II, and Biriyani.
2014 TO 2016:
Hansika, who featured in more than three movies most of the years, in 2014 starred in Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda (Telugu), Maan Karate (Tamil), Power (Telugu), Aranmanai (Tamil), and Meaghamann (Tamil). In 2015, she featured in five Tamil movies, namely, Aambala, Romeo Juliet, Vaalu, Puli, and Inji Iduppazhagi (Cameo), and in one Telugu movie - Size Zero (Cameo). In 2016, she starred in Tamil movies Aranmanai 2, Pokkiri Raja, Uyire Uyire, and Manithan.
2017 TO 2020:
In 2017, Hansika starred in movies Luckunnodu (Telugu), Bogan (Tamil), Goutham Nanda (Telugu), and then made her Malayalam debut with movie Villain. In 2018, she starred in Tamil movies Gulaebaghavali, and Thuppakki Munai, and in 2019, she made a special appearance in Telugu movie N.T.R: Kathanayakudu, starred in 100 (Tamil), and Tenali Ramakrishna BA. BL (Telugu). She has a number of movies in 2020, namely, Maha (Tamil), Partner (Tamil), along with another two untitled Tamil films and one untitled Telugu web series.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Hansika Motwani was born on August 9, 1991 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to Pradeep Motwani and Mona Motwani, and she has one brother. She studied at the Podar International School in Mumbai and the International Curriculum School in Santacruz, Mumbai.
