Kriti Kharbanda is an Indian actress and model who works in the Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu film industries. Following her career as a model, Kriti made her acting debut in 2009 with the Telegu movie Boni opposite actor Sumanth. She then made her Kannada debut in 2010, Hindi debut in 2016, and Tamil debut in 2017.
As a child, Kriti was featured in a number of advertisements, and during her college days, she had modelled for Bhima Jewellers, Spar, and Fair and Lovely. It was when she was featured on a Spar billboard that she caught the attention of NRI director Raj Pippala, who was looking for a heroine for his film. It led to the start of her acting career.
2010 TO 2015:
Kriti made her Kannada debut in 2010 starring in the movie Chirru alongside actor Chiranjeevi Sarja. She followed it with Telegu movies Ala Modalaindi and Teen Maar in 2011. In Ala Modalaindi she had a cameo role, and in Teen Maar she starred alongside Pawan Kalyan, and Trisha Krishnan. In 2012, she starred in Telegu movie Mr. Nookayya alongside Manoj Manchu, and Sana Khan, and the same year in Kanada movie Prem Adda.
In 2013, Kriti featured in four movies, namely, Galaate, a Kannada movie in which she was starred opposite actor Prajwal Devaraj, in Telegu movies Ongole Gittha alongside actor Ram Pothineni, and in Om 3D alongside Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Karthik, Sampath Raj, and Nikesha Patel. The other was in Kannada movie Googly opposite Yash and alongside Ananth Nag and Sadhu Kokila.
The following year she starred in Tirupati Express (Kannada), Super Ranga (Kannada), and Belli (Kannada), and then in 2015 in Minchagi Nee Baralu (Kannada), and Bruce Lee – The Fighter (Telegu). She won a SIIMA Award for Best Actress (Critics) and was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada for her role in Super Ranga, and nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress - Telugu and SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actress - Telugu for Bruce Lee – The Fighter.
2016 TO 2020:
Kriti made her Hindi movie debut in 2016 with Raaz: Reboot alongside Emraan Hashmi, and Gaurav Arora, and in 2017 her Tamil debut with movie Bruce Lee alongside GV Prakash Kumar. The same year she starred in Kannada movie Maasthi Gudi, and in Hindi movies Guest iin London, and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. In 2018 she had a cameo role in Hindi movie Karwaan, then starred in Kannada movie Dalapathi, Hindi movies Veerey Ki Wedding, and Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se.
In 2019, she starred in Hindi movie Housefull 4, and will next be seen in Tamil movie Vaan, and Hindi action-comedy Pagalpanti. In 2020, she has two Hindi movies, namely, Chehre, and Taish.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Kriti Kharbanda was born into a Punjabi family on October 29, 1990 in Delhi to Ashwani Kharbanda and Rajni Kharbanda and she has a younger sister and brother. She completed her high school from Baldwin Girls High School, did her ISC from Bishop Cotton girl's school, and then graduated from the Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College. She holds a diploma in jewellery designing.
