Lucky Ali, born Maqsood Ali, is an Indian singer-songwriter, composer and actor who works predominantly in the Hindi music industry. He released his first album in 1996 titled Sunoh for which he won many awards, including the Best Pop Male Vocalist in the 1996 Screen Awards and the Channel V Viewers Choice Award in 1997. It stayed on the MTV Asia Charts for 60 weeks.
Lucky, who is known for his distinctive music style and also for his untrained voice, came out with his second album in 1998 titled Sifar, followed with a third in 2001 titled Aks and a fourth in 2002 titled Gori Teri Aankhen... His other albums are, Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai (2004), Xsuie (2009), and Raasta Man (2011).

In 1997, Lucky Ali sang Anjaani Raahon Mein for the album Meri Jaan Hindustan, which commemorated 50 years of Indian independence. In 2002, he composed the music of the album Gori Teri Aankhen... which had featured various artists and him in 3 out of 8 songs. He sang the songs Gori Teri Aankhen..., Duniya Choomegi Tere Kadam, and Chali Chali Man Chali. In 2009 he sang Hey Goodbye Nanba from Tamil movie Aaytha Ezhuthu along with various other artists, in 2010 the songs Na Tum Jano Na Hum and Ek Pal Ka Jeena from the movie Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai.
MOVIES:
Lucky Ali has featured in a number of Hindi films, and in 1974 he made a special appearance as a child actor in the movie Kunwara Baap, followed by Ginny Aur Johnny in 1976, Yehi Hai Zindagi, and Kitaab in 1977. He made his debut as an adult actor in the movie Hamare Tumhare in 1979, and followed it with Trikal in 1985. In 2002, he played the male lead in the movie Sur – The Melody of Life and was also the singer of 5 of the film's songs.
In 2002, Lucky Ali was part of an ensemble cast for the movie Kaante, which was a success at the box office. In 2003 he worked in the movie Love at Times Square, singing the song Sote Sote with singer Sapna Mukherjee. In 2005, he was signed up to play the male lead in the movie Kasak alongside Pakistani actress Meera, and then in 2008 in Good Luck!, followed by Runway in 2009.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Lucky Ali was born Maqsood Mehmood Ali on September 19, 1958 in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra to very well known Bollywood comedian-actor Mehmood Ali and Mahelaka, and is the second of eight children. He studied at Manekji Cooper (Kindergarten), Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai, the Bishop Cotton Boys' School in Bangalore, and at St. George's College in Mussoorie.
He has been married three times, first to Meaghan Jane McCleary, a New Zealander, and then to Inaya, a Persian, and he has two children from each of them. His third marriage was with British model and former beauty queen Kate Elizabeth Hallam with whom he has a son.
