Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez or Salma Hayek as she is known, is a Mexican and American actress and producer who works in the film and television industries. She began her acting career in Mexico in 1989 in the telenovela Teresa, and her movie debut in 1993 in Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life).
Salma, who is an award-winning actress, has starred in over 50 movies and has appeared in over 10 television serials. Her breakthrough role was in the 2002 film Frida, as Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

PERSONAL LIFE:
Salma Hayek Pinault was born on September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico to Sami Hayek Domínguez and Diana Jiménez Medina, and she has one brother. She was raised in a Roman Catholic family, and at the age of 12, she was sent to study at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau in Louisiana. She later attended university at the Universidad Iberoamericana where she studied International Relations. She is married to French billionaire and Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault and has a daughter with him.
