Trisha Krishnan, popularly known as Trisha, is an Indian actress and model who works predominantly in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Her first on-screen appearance was in 1999 in the Tamil movie Jodi in a supporting role, and she then made her debut as a lead actress in the 2002 Tamil movie Mounam Pesiyadhe.
Trisha, who won the Miss Salem beauty pageant and the Miss Madras contest in 1999, and the Beautiful Smile award at the 2001 Miss India pageant, had in 2000 appeared in Falguni Pathak's music video Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye. She never had acting in mind and had wanted to become a criminal psychologist, but she ended up featuring in over 60 movies, earning awards for some.
2003 TO 2005:
After her debut, Trisha starred in five Tamil and one Telugu movie in 2003, namely, Manasellam, Saamy, Lesa Lesa, Alai, Enakku 20 Unakku 18, and Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu (Telugu). In 2004 she starred in Telugu movie Varsham, for which she earned the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu, and in the same year, she starred in Tamil movies Ghilli and Aaytha Ezhuthu. In 2005, she starred in six movies, namely, Thirupaachi (Tamil), Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (She won Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu), Ji (Tamil), Athadu (Telugu), Allari Bullodu (Telugu), and Aaru (Tamil).
2006 TO 2008:
In 2006, Trisha featured in six movies, namely, Aathi (Tamil), Pournami (Telugu), Bangaram (Special Appearance-Telugu), Unakkum Enakkum (Tamil), Stalin (Telugu), and Sainikudu (Telugu). She then starred in Telugu movie Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule in 2007 for which she earned a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu, and in the same year in Kireedam (Tamil). In 2008, she featured in Krishna (Telugu), Bheemaa (Tamil), Velli Thirai (Cameo-Tamil), Kuruvi (Tamil), Bujjigadu (Telugu), Abhiyum Naanum (Tamil), and King (Telugu).
2009 TO 2013:
Trisha, who usually featured in more than four movies in a year, went on to star in Sarvam (Tamil) and Sankham (Telugu) in 2009, and in 2010, she starred in Namo Venkatesa (Telugu), Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (Tamil), Ye Maaya Chesave (Guest Appearance-Telugu), Khatta Meetha (Hindi Debut), and Manmadan Ambu (Tamil). The next year, 2011, she featured in Teen Maar (Telugu) and Mankatha (Tamil), and in 2012 in Bodyguard (Telugu) and Dammu (Telugu), followed by Tamil movies Samar and Endrendrum Punnagai in 2013.
2014 TO 2016:
In 2014, Trisha made her Kannada debut with the movie Power and followed it with six movies in 2015, namely, Yennai Arindhaal (Tamil), Lion (Telugu), Sakalakala Vallavan (Tamil), Thoongaa Vanam (Tamil), Cheekati Rajyam (Telugu), and Bhooloham (Tamil). In 2016, Trisha starred in Aranmanai 2 (Tamil), Nayaki (Telugu), Nayagi (Tamil), and Kodi (She won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Tamil).
2018 TO 2020:
Trisha made her Malayalam debut in 2018 with the movie Hey Jude, which got positive reviews, and in the same year, she starred in Tamil movies Mohini and '96. In 2019, she starred alongside Rajinikanth in Tamil movie Petta, which did pretty well at the box office. Trisha has five upcoming Tamil movies, namely, Garjanai, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Paramapadham Vilayattu, Rangi, and Kutrappayirchi.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Trisha Krishnan was born on May 4, 1983 in Pallakad, Kerala to Krishnan and Uma. She completed her schooling from the Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park, Chennai and later pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course at the Ethiraj College for Women (Chennai).
