Vartika Singh is an Indian model who was crowned Miss Universe India in 2019 and who will represent India at the 68th edition of the Miss Universe pageant. In 2015 she had competed at the Miss Grand International held in Bangkok, Thailand and had won the second runner up title.
Vartika had competed at the Miss Diva 2014 pageant, earning a place in the top 7, as well as winning the Miss Photogenic award at the contest. She then competed at the 52nd edition of the Femina Miss India pageant and was crowned Femina Miss Grand India 2015.
Apart from winning second runner up at the Miss Grand International 2015 contest, she also won the Best Social Media award and was placed in the Top 10 of Miss Popular Vote and Top 20 in Best National Costume sub-contests. Her finale gown had been designed by Shane and Falguni Peacock, while her national costume had been designed by Malvika Tater.
CAREER:
In 2016, Vartika had featured in GQ (India) magazine for an interview and a photoshoot and it had ranked her among the hottest women of India. In 2017, she had competed in the Kingfisher Calendar contest and was featured in it in March and October.
Where the Miss Universe 2019 title is concerned, Vartika was chosen to represent India after she was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2019. She will represent India at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant to be held in Atlanta, Georgia on December 8, 2019.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Vartika Brij Nath Singh was born on August 27, 1993 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and she has one brother and three sisters. Her father is a scientist and during her interview with GQ she had revealed that he was not happy with what she was doing as he wanted her to become a scientist like him. She did her schooling at the Canossa Convent School in Lucknow, and then received her Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics from Isabella Thoburn College. She holds a Master's degree in Public health from the University of Lucknow.
OTHER INTERESTS:
In 2018, Vartika founded a non-profit organization called Pure Humans. As a public health professional, she wanted to create and spread awareness about public health-related issues plaguing the country. Vartika has been working with the government of Uttar Pradesh to create awareness and educate the communities about tuberculosis.
